Residents in the North areas of Bridlington, including the villages of Buckton, Bempton, areas of Flamborough, Grindale, Burton Fleming, Speeton and Reighton, have seen their phone signal completely disappear or become intermittent on the o2 mobile network.
It comes after a series of overnight power cuts in the area, though it still hasn’t been ascertained if they are connected.

This has resulted in customers being unable to make calls, listen to voicemails, complete verification and secure processes or access text messages.

The o2 network also provides services for Tesco Mobile, Sky Mobile, giffgaff, Lycamobile.
In an automated message on the o2 website, a statement reads:

Sorry, a phone mast close to you isn’t working.
Looks like a nearby phone mast is having power issues, sorry. We’re working with the regional energy supplier to make sure it’s safe and to get it fixed quickly. In the meantime, you might have some trouble with your calls, texts and data. We’ll update you by Friday 26th MAY 2023
Last year, mobile phone service for the above areas was down or intermittent for several days throughout November.
