Plans have been announced to relocate the mydentist dental practice on Quay Road, Bridlington, to a larger and more modern building just a short walk from its current location.
The practice says it is proposing to move to Crown Buildings, Quay Road, Bridlington, YO16 4LY, remaining on the same road and within minutes of the existing surgery. The relocation aims to improve facilities for patients and staff while allowing the practice to meet growing demand for dental services in the town.
According to the practice and in letter sent patients and seen by the Echo, the current premises have reached full capacity, limiting the number of patients who can be seen. The proposed new site would offer increased patient capacity, helping to reduce waiting times and allowing more people in the local community to register with the practice.
The letter outlines that the new surgery would provide a full range of NHS and private dental treatments, delivered by the same clinicians and practice team who currently work at the Quay Road site. Plans include modern, state-of-the-art treatment rooms equipped with the latest dental technology.
Accessibility is also a key part of the proposal. The new premises would be entirely on the ground floor, fully accessible for wheelchair users and patients with disabilities. There would also be an improved waiting area designed to create a more comfortable patient experience.
In addition, the building would benefit from on-site parking and would remain close to the parking areas currently used by patients.
As part of the proposed move, mydentist has launched a consultation to gather feedback from patients. The practice says views from the community will help shape the future of the service and ensure it continues to provide high-quality dental care in a setting that meets local needs.
Patients are being encouraged to share their thoughts on the relocation plans before a final decision is made.
The Echo is awaiting further comment from the practice.
