A Bridlington Sea Cadet has been appointed as one of the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets of the East Riding of Yorkshire in recognition of her commitment and dedication.
Leading Cadet Charlotte White, of Sea Cadets TS Pathfinder in Bridlington, received the prestigious appointment from His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the East Riding, Jim Dick OBE, at a ceremony held at Middleton Barracks in Hull. The event celebrated the achievements of outstanding cadets and adult volunteers from across the county.
Charlotte will support the Lord-Lieutenant at a range of ceremonial duties throughout the coming year, which can include royal visits and Remembrance services.
The appointment is the highest honour a cadet can achieve. It recognises those who demonstrate exceptional standards, leadership, good communication skills and commitment to their organisation.
Speaking about her appointment, Charlotte said: “It is such an honour to be appointed this role, and I am excited for the experiences I can get out of it.”
Charlotte was among three cadets selected from across the East Riding, alongside Cadet Company Sergeant Major Lorelai Drury, of the Army Cadet Force in Goole, and Cadet Warrant Officer Henry Willey, of 152 (City of Hull) Squadron, Air Cadets.
Two adult volunteers were also recognised for their outstanding service.
Mr Dick said the awards celebrated the exceptional commitment, leadership and service of volunteers who give their time to mentor, train and inspire young people.
He congratulated all recipients and said he looked forward to working with the newly appointed Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets during the coming year.
