A Snowdrop and Aconite Walk will take place in the grounds of the Thorpe Hall Estate, Rudston (YO25 4JE), on Saturday and Sunday, 21 and 22 February, from 10am, with last entry at 3.30pm, by kind invitation of Mr and Mrs Somerled Macdonald of Sleat.

There is no need to book — just turn up and pay at the gate. Prices are the same as last year: adults £7, children over five £3, and under fives free. Cash only. Please wear walking boots or wellies. Free parking is available. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed on the walk.
This self-guided 45-minute walk uses a map provided on arrival and takes visitors through beautiful local countryside, including the grounds, parkland and areas near the Gypsey Race river. Due to uneven surfaces, it is not suitable for wheelchairs, although refreshments are accessible.
The walk has taken place every year since 2010 (except 2021 due to Covid), and many visitors return annually to enjoy the snowdrops and aconites. This is the only occasion when the Thorpe Hall grounds are open to the public.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, soup and cakes will be available. All proceeds go to All Saints Church, Rudston.
In the event of severe weather, the walk may be cancelled, with updates shared on local radio and social media.
