Bridlington is preparing for a unique double celebration next month as the popular Bridlington Steampunk Weekend returns alongside the thrilling Race The Waves beach racing event.

The sixth annual Bridlington Steampunk Weekend will take place on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13 at the Royal Hall, Bridlington Spa. Organisers are promising a packed programme of family-friendly entertainment – and best of all, admission is free.
Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, presentations, workshops and authors, while browsing an impressive emporium of steampunk-inspired clothing, accessories and curiosities.

Outside the venue, the excitement will continue with vintage vehicles, classic motorcycles, trade stands and the spectacular Wall of Death attraction.
Adding to the festival atmosphere, Backfire Promotions will once again bring Race The Waves to Bridlington beach. The popular event sees vintage-style cars and motorcycles compete in head-to-head races along the sand, attracting enthusiasts and spectators from across the country.

Organisers say the combination of the two events creates one of the most distinctive weekends on the East Yorkshire calendar, blending Victorian-inspired creativity with high-octane motorsport action.
The festival has become a firm favourite with residents and visitors alike, drawing thousands to the town each year and providing a boost for local businesses.
Organisers said they are looking forward to welcoming people back to “brilliant, beautiful, banging Brid” for what promises to be another memorable weekend on the Yorkshire coast.
