Well known and well-respected photographer Dom Taylor was in for a wonderful surprise after the photographing the Bridlington Town match against Hull City under 23’s this afternoon (31 July).
Dom was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Life member of Bridlington Town FC’ from club chairman Pete Smurthwaite along with 1st Team manager Brett Agnew and former Hull City full back Andy Dawson.
He was presented with a stunning framed picture of football fans heading to the Queensgate stadium on a match day, painted by local artist Andrew Storrie
A spokesman for the club said Dom, who also covers local sport for the Bridlington Echo, “…lives, breathes and sleeps Bridlington Town Football Club – whether that is raising funds for the club, making the match programs or being the clubs photographer.”
“Dom is one of the most humble and modest men you will ever meet and he will hate all the fuss, but this award could not have gone to a more deserving and better man. From everyone connected to the club – well done Dom.”
Bridlington Echo editor Simon Kench said: “Dom is one of the nicest guys I have met and worked with. His photographs are second to none and he works tirelessly – not only to promote Brid Town, but also local junior sport around the area. We are delighted to have Dom working with us at the Echo.”
