Running over two days – Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July – the Bridlington Seafood Festival will bring a whole host of maritime-themed free street entertainment, workshops for the kids, a magical maritime-themed lantern parade and five minute firework finalé.
Stalls selling a tempting array of unique seafood dishes, alongside craft and street food stalls will create a real family-friendly festival weekend, based around Garrison Square and Prince Street, in the heart of town.
A spokesperson for the Festival said: “Businesses are encouraged to make the most of the many extra visitors expected and help create that festival feel, with special window displays and promotions.
“Friday’s events begin from 12 noon with the day-long free willow lantern-making and willow sea-creatures workshops for children and parents, culminating in an evening lantern parade around the harbour and back to Prince Street, with a spectacular five minute fireworks finalé to finish day one (please expect a few bangs!).
“And don’t forget that Sunday 28th July sees giant King Street Food Festival too – culminating in a fabulously food-oriented end to a unique and special weekend in Bridlington.
“Visitors are encouraged to stay over for the whole weekend and relax in the festival atmosphere.
“It’s the first time in many years that the core town centre has been chosen as the location for such a large scale event, encouraging locals and visitors to support their local independent traders too.”
