The lovely village of Burton Fleming, nestled beside the East Yorkshire Wolds, will bethe first port of call for many of the Race the Waves competitors as they stop off for a few hours on their way to Bridlington.

The visit has now become an integral part of the weekend, with local resident Anita Braithwaite helping to co-ordinate the event.

Said Anita: “Race the Waves organiser Paul Garbutt put an appeal out asking ifthe village wanted a chance to host the drivers and fundraise for local good causes at the same time.

I said ‘yes’ and this is how Yesteryears Day started.”
“Villagers, visitors and competitors alike love seeing the different vehicles in the field, near to the Village Hall.

“Many of them can be seen enjoying home baking and refreshments, then popping into Bridlington over the weekend to see some of the vehicles in Old Town and the racing on the beach.

“Don’t forget to visit Burton Fleming and have a chance to see the vehicles and chat with the owners.” concluded Anita.
