Thousands of visitors flocked to the annual Flamborough RNLI Funday which was held on the village green over the Bank Holiday weekend.

As well as fundraising for the village lifeboat, part of the proceeds were donated to the local pre-school, which is in the process of moving to a new facility.

Throughout the day Bridlington Gold Radio road show presenter Mike Hammond did an excellent job of keeping the music playing, making announcements, introducing live entertainment and encouraging people to enjoy the day and raise funds for the two very worthy causes.
The crowds were treated to some fantastic routines by the Red Admiral Majorettes and kept entertained by local musicians including several regulars from Flamborough Open mic.
Pat Toft, who helped to organise the stalls and is also an RNLI volunteer, was delighted with the event.
“We probably had the best Funday for years…we had the weather and well over a thousand visitors on the village green…It was wonderful.”

“Thanks must go to all the volunteers and everyone involved from the village RNLI to the pre- school – and many more.

“A special mention must go to Josh Maskill, who helped to get the village pubs involved in sponsoring the bar, and also some of the crew who helped with the cooking of burgers…they even got an emergency call-out in the late afternoon whilst in the middle of catering duties.” added Pat.

A stunning framed photo of the Flamborough Headland from the air by Echo photographer Rod Newton was also auctioned off for £100.
Monies raised from the day were being totalled up as the Echo went to press.
