The first snow of the winter has hit Bridlington and the Yorkshire Coast.
Most roads in the area are passable, but further afield the A171 is closed at present between Scarborough and Whitby, with reports of trecherous driving conditions.

The BBC forecast is saying the following about the weather over the next 24 hours.

This morning will see a bright and dry start for most, but coastal areas may see a few lingering wintry showers. Turning dry for all later, with sunshine. A colder day.
Tonight will see clear skies to start, but areas of patchy cloud will drift in from the north through the night, bringing a few scattered sleet and snow showers. Another cold night.
