Litter pickers on Bridlington North Beach have collected over 66 pounds of rubbish in one session of cleaning up the sands.

Yesterday, (July 12) the group of volunteers, led by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and with help from Sewerby WI memebers, set off with their litter pickets and bin bags to help make a difference to the cleanliness of the beach.

Two kids tents and a deflated pink flamingo were amongst the discarded items collected, as well as the usual array of plastics, cans and paper waste.

As always, the message is to find a bin for your rubbish or take it home with you.
