On Saturday, 19th July (weather permitting), a group of dedicated volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves to repaint and stain the seating areas in Pembroke Gardens and South Cliff Gardens.
With the flower beds now in full bloom for the summer season and the anticipation of a striking new piece of public art soon to grace Pembroke Gardens, this initiative promises to enhance the beauty of the local area.
The Brightening Up Bridlington (BUB) volunteers, in collaboration with the Bridlington Police team, is part of their extensive three-year ‘Clear Hold Build’ programme, aimed at rejuvenating the community.
The volunteers’ efforts will play a crucial role in tidying up these popular public spaces.
Participants are urged to dress in old clothing, as staining materials may cause marks. All necessary supplies, including brushes, stain, and goggles (if requested), will be provided.
Additionally, the team will be joined by eight community payback workers, along with their supervisor, whose support is greatly appreciated.
It is important to note that this project may not be suitable for younger volunteers, but they are welcome to join in litter picking activities if accompanied by an adult.
The event will kick off at 10am and run until approximately 12 noon. Volunteers are asked to gather in South Cliff Gardens for equipment distribution.
This initiative represents a fantastic opportunity for community members to come together and contribute to the regeneration of Bridlington’s gardens and public spaces
