The B1229 Bempton to Reighton road is currently closed between Speeton and the North Yorkshire/ East Yorkshire boundary due to what has been described by locals as ‘a serious police incident.’
Vehicles are being diverted away from the area and it is understood that several police cars are on the scene and there are reports of a helicopter near to the incident.
Humberside Fire and Rescue are also in attendance.
There had been earlier reports of a police car following a damaged vehicle through Bridlington and then towards and through Bempton and Buckton village.
