A new Neighbourhood Watch initiative for Bridlington is being held at the Bridlington Spa on Tuesday 18th June.

The open meeting will discuss driving forward the present Neighbourhood Watch schemes in Bridlington and developing other plans that will create safer neighbourhoods and cut down anti-social behaviour.
Community Crime Reduction Officer Alan Brown explained: “There is a lot of work being carried out in Bridlington, and in Bridlington south particularly with Clear Hold Build (CHB) tackling criminality.

“Communities deserve to take ownership of the areas they live in and make them safe from crime and have the tools to report suspected crime with confidence.

“Neighbourhood Watch groups support the vulnerable people in their neighbourhoods.
“East Riding Council’s Anti-social behaviour team has embarked on a marketing campaign including events and visits to already established forums/groups that would allow engagement with local communities to encourage recruitment through information sharing and explaining the benefits of NHW.” Advertisement

The next event is an open meeting for anyone with an interest in their local community on Tuesday 18th June at 6pm, with NHW group leaders, elected East Riding Councillors and Humberside Police present.
