In a parliamentary question in the House of Commons, MP Charlie Dewhirst, enquired about the housing of illegal immigrants in the area.

Said Mr Dewhirst: “The Minister confirmed to me that, despite reports to the contrary, the Government is not buying the hotels that they’re currently housing illegal migrants in.

“They have pledged to end hotel use, so I pushed for clarity on what this means for our local area.

“The Minister confirmed that no hotels are being used in Bridlington & The Wolds, and that our area is well below the average number of ‘service users’, which is good news.

“It is absolutely vital the Government now gets a grip on the migrant crisis and puts an end to placing asylum seekers in hotels.”
