The Honey Pot Inn on Flamborough Road, Speeton is awaiting a decision on its plans to site eight glamping pods in a field next to the pub.
The application follows the relaunch of the Honey Pot as a pub and restaurant after a period of closure.
The field has been used for many years as a Camping and Caravanning Club certified site, taking up to five caravans and 10 tents. Each one-bedroom pod would have its own wet room and electric heating, with no new outdoor lighting planned. Guests would use the existing access through the pub car park.
The application says visitors are expected to make use of the inn, including its large indoor children’s play area, which it described as undergoing refurbishment.
Planning records show the building, a former school, was approved for conversion into a pub in 1988.
The application, reference 26/03726/FUL, is being considered by North Yorkshire Council.
