Former pupils of Bridlington School’s Class of ’77 are being invited to relive cherished school memories at a special reunion celebrating both their schooldays and their 60th birthdays.

The Class of ’77 Reunion will take place at Bridlington Rugby Club on Saturday, 29 August 2026, starting at 7.30pm. All former students who joined the Lower School in 1977, along with their partners, are warmly welcomed.
Organisers have been delighted by the enthusiastic response, with former classmates travelling from as far afield as Australia, North America and across Europe, alongside many returning from throughout the UK.

The reunion marks a significant chapter in Bridlington’s educational history, commemorating the first intake following the introduction of comprehensive education after the amalgamation of Bridlington High School for Girls and Bridlington Grammar School for Boys.
Bridlington School memorabilia will be displayed during the evening, and attendees are encouraged to bring old photographs to help spark memories. Name badges will also be provided, with organisers joking that “some of us may have changed over the last 45 years!”

Retired chemistry teacher John Blythe said he is looking forward to the celebration, with several former colleagues also hoping to attend the nostalgic occasion.
