The Bridlington & District Stroke Group held its first major Charity Concert in the area at Bempton & Buckton Community Hall recently.

The Stroke Group is a voluntary
support organisation for stroke survivors, their families and carers in the East Riding.
It meets on the 1st Thursday of the month at Bridlington Hospital as well as arranging additional activities.

The fundraising concert was organised by the Village Stage Charity Concerts and as a result of a fantastic night of music, raising a staggering £745.00 and after all expenses have been paid out
the Stroke Group have received £700.00.
Sal Cooke (a member of the group having had two strokes herself) said: “We are simply overwhelmed by the generosity of the performers who kindly waived their fees, the amazing sponsors who provided fabulous raffle prizes, the 100+ people in the audience
and to Geoff Yerrell who hosted the whole event on behalf of the Village
Stage Charity Concerts.

“We are a small voluntary group and this money will help run our monthly meetings, paying for craft materials and subsidising our by outings, which are all so vital to many of the Group.” added Sal.
