Councillor Jonathan Bibb will be joining the Cabinet of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, following the departure of Councillor David Tucker.
Councillor Bibb, who represents East Wolds and Coastal will take on the role of Portfolio Holder of Digital, Change and People Services, with immediate effect.
The role of Deputy Leader will remain vacant until the election has taken place at the next group meeting.
Councillor Anne Handley, leader of the council said: “I’m delighted that Councillor Bibb is joining the cabinet I think he will be a fantastic addition. He takes on a portfolio that it crucial at the moment as it will shape the council and how we deliver services going forward.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Councillor Tucker for his time on the cabinet and as deputy leader.”
