FLAMBOROUGH residents and visitors from near and far can look forward to the return of the Flowerpot Festival next summer after a key community meeting at Flamborough Village Hall in January confirmed plans for the event to go ahead in 2026.
The popular festival — known for its quirky and creative flowerpot displays that brighten up gardens, windows and public spaces — has become a highlight of the local events calendar in recent years, drawing families and visitors alike to enjoy a month of “potty” fun and community creativity.
At the meeting, several previously vacant roles on the Flowerpot Festival committee were filled, giving organisers the volunteers they need to begin planning in earnest for next summer’s festivities. With the committee now strengthened, further planning meetings are being scheduled over the coming weeks.
Thanks were given to outgoing Chair Julie Sanders, who has helped build the festival into the wonderful event that it is today.
Festival supporters are optimistic that the 2026 event will build on the success of previous years, which included community workshops, trail maps and fundraising activities that have helped support local groups and raise the profile of the Flamborough community.
Organisers have said that more volunteers are still welcome as preparations ramp up and details about dates, workshops and other activities will be announced once plans are more fully developed.
