Dignitaries including Bridlington Mayor Cllr Angie Walker and her consort Graham, the Chaorman of Bridlington British Legion and the Royal Naval Assocaition and others veterans who helped to hoist the flag in the War Memorial Gardens to mark the run up to the much-loved event.

Bridlington is set to honour its heroes as it hosts Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 12th July 2025, from noon until 4pm.

The procession will conclude at the Yacht Club, located at 22 South Marine Drive, where a special saluting dais will be manned by dignitaries, including the Lord Lieutenant of East Yorkshire.

Visitors can look forward to an exciting line-up featuring ex-military vehicle displays and entertainment, with contributions from the Royal British Legion Riders, various ex-service associations, and local Cadet Forces.

These displays will be situated in front of the RNLI station on South Marine Drive and at the Yacht Club.

A highlight of the day will be an aircraft formation flypast scheduled for 2pm, weather and serviceability permitting.

Additionally, at 2.30pm, the Gurkhas will showcase a Kukri display, providing unique insight into their heritage and skills.

Martin Barmby and Barry Riley, who have organised the event, passed on their gratitude to all the volunteers, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the Yacht Club, the RNLI, Richie’s Cafe Bar, Bridlington Town Council, Christ Church, The Bridlington Echo, ex-service veteran associations, support groups, and cadet forces. Most importantly, they thank the people of Bridlington for their unwavering support, which makes this event possible.
