Every dog has its day….and our four legged friends are set to take the lead and enjoy their first day of the winter season on the areas of Bridlington beaches after the summer dog ban had been lifted on October 1st.

Owners and their four-legged friends in the Bridlington area will have the opportunity to paws for a while and gather at Richie’s Cafe on South Beach from 10am until 11.30 am on Sunday for the annual ‘Doggy Freedom Day’ event.

This is to celebrate the fact that all areas of the beaches are now open to dog walkers over the winter months without any restrictions on where pooches are allowed.

Richie’s owner Richard Preston will once again be making charity donations from the event and also providing a hot drink and bacon roll for dog walkers for only £2.95.

Proceeds from bacon sandwiches and hot drink sales will go to the Make-a-Wish Charity Foundation which helps youngsters with life-limiting illnesses fulfil dream holidays.

Dogs won’t be hounded out however and will be in line for a pawsome treat with Richie’s staff on hand with a sausage as a morning snack.
