There could be a good chance to witness the stunning Northern Lights in our area this evening.
Clear skies are expected, creating ideal conditions for the aurora borealis to be visible to sky-watchers in the Bridlington and East Yorkshire coast area.
The Met Office has advised people to look up at the sky tonight for a potential glimpse of the aurora. With clear skies forecasted overnight, sightings of the mesmerising natural light display are possible in the area.
Though it is extremely hard to predict, experts are saying from around 8.30pm onwards this evening (12th September) may be the best time to start looking.

Typically visible from countries near the Arctic Circle like Canada, Iceland, and Norway, the aurora borealis can sometimes be seen further south during periods of intense solar activity, such as in northern parts of the UK.
This year there has been several evenings where good showing of the celestial show on our coast.
For the best viewing experience of the aurora borealis, clear and dark skies are essential, requiring minimal moonlight and cloud cover.
