Residents of Bridlington have been urged to stay alert this weekend as a flood warning is in force for the North Sea coast, covering the Harbour Road and Floral Pavilion areas.
According to the Environment Agency, a combination of high tides, strong winds and large waves could lead to coastal flooding and dangerous sea conditions.
Forecast data from the Met Office shows blustery onshore winds, combined with choppy seas — weather that may exacerbate wave overtopping and surges along low-lying coastal zones.
The Environment Agency has warned that flood-prone roads, promenades, beach accesses and car parks may be inundated. Residents are advised to avoid the coast, keep clear of waves and do not attempt to walk or drive through floodwater.
