Get ready for a stunning sight in the night sky this Thursday (January 25th) as the first full moon of 2024 rises to illuminate the winter darkness.

After clear nights over the past few days in the Bridkington area, photographers and star-gazers will be looking skywards in the hope of capturing a glimpse of the first full moon of the year.
Known as the wolf moon, this lunar event holds a special significance – it is so named as it is believed that wolves tend to howl more during the winter season.

This full moon is also referred to as the ice moon, the moon after Yule, or the old moon.
Mark your calendars for the next full moon on February 24, known as the snow moon due to the cold and snowy weather typically experienced in the month of February.
