A striking new mural has been unveiled at Hideaway at the House of Food in Bridlington, bringing a splash of colour and symbolism to Lansdowne Road.

The artwork, featuring a koi fish swimming upstream, was privately commissioned and funded by the independent family-run business and created by local artist Sam Porter of Mural Minded.
Hideaway said the project was designed to brighten up the area and celebrate the independent businesses and guest houses that help welcome visitors to the town.

Sam explained that the koi fish represents perseverance, resilience and the courage to overcome life’s obstacles – values he felt reflected both the business and the wider community.
The mural is the third public artwork Sam has completed in Bridlington, helping to expand the town’s growing mural trail, with further projects already planned for the future.
