Bridlington RUFC are on the road this weekend -7 March, 2026, as they head to fourth-place Old Otliensians on Saturday, as they prepare for what could be a season-defining month in their bid to strengthen their title ambitions.
The top four in Counties 2 Yorkshire remains tight. Bridlington sit on 62 points, but are only two adrift of Old Otliensians in the standings as the Blue and Golds prepare for their trip to West Yorkshire.
Both sides come into this fixture in high spirits after recording wins in their last league action. Old Otliensians were in fine form as they beat Northallerton 54–19 to keep their title chase alive.
Bridlington, though, were made to work hard in last week’s victory, as a last-minute Will Watts try against Huddersfield Laund Hill ensured their unbeaten home league streak remained unbroken.
Going into the fixture, Sanderson’s men have made little change to their squad. Reece Webb comes in at loosehead, while Ryan Fowler adds to the bench. They also welcome back Cooper Paddock, who returns to the bench and will cover the back line.
Callam Sanderson had this to say ahead of Saturday’s clash with Old Otliensians:
“We’ve had a good week, especially Thursday night. We had a good turnout, got a lot of our detail done and we’re feeling confident. We know it’s going to be a massive test to go to Otliensians and get a result. They’re a side that don’t lose very often, especially at home, so we know it’s going to be a heck of a battle to go there and get some points. But we’re also really looking forward to the challenge.”
“We’ve spoken a lot about how March will define our season. We’ve got three back-to-back away trips to West Yorkshire, which is tough for any team. The fact we’re travelling from Brid to West Yorkshire three times in three weeks is tough, and it’s going to be difficult to get results. It will be a real test of our character, and if we can come through the three games and get results, it will be massive for us.”
