A Bridlington-based video maker has been ‘right on cue’ after live streaming hundreds of pool matches to tens of thousands of viewers around the world from the Bridlington Spa.
Sam Jones started filming 6 years ago at the former Bridlington Snooker Centre (now Cue & Cushion) after a chat with local pool player Ross Bonnett on how to showcase events at the club.
Explained Sam: “It’s where I had the idea of purchasing a small HD camera to connect to a laptop and the journey of The Yorkshire Project Live rolled on from there.
“The name of TYP comes from when I was 13 and fascinated with making a project about Yorkshire for Yorkshire folk.
“Having a passion for technology, cameras and cue-sports meant this was a great connection to bring together.”
Thanks to the broadcast partnerships with World Billiards, English Blackball Federation (EBPF) and European Blackball Association (EBA) Sam now travels all over the UK
and to Jersey, Ireland and Austria.
“My favourite times are broadcasting from Bridlington Spa – an iconic venue with lots of history – and helping the economy of Bridlington for the 10 days that the pool competitions are here.
“Plus I get all area access to the UK Championships at the Barbican in York for World Snooker with the team at World Billiards.” added Sam.
