Snow has hit the East Yorkshire coastal areas overnight and today (15th January, 2024) with a covering of the white stuff around the area.

Areas around Bridlington, Flamborough, Bempton and the Filey coastal strip have seen several snow showers coming in off the North, Sea with some small accumulations on the ground.

Temperatures are around freezing point and untreated surfaces on footpaths and side roads will be icy.

It is understood that only coastal areas are affected, with roads being reported clear inland towards Driffield, Beverley and in the Pockington areas.

As always motorists are urged to be cautious and allow a bit more time for journeys.
