Year 8 students at Headlands School have been told to isolate for ten days from today (10th May 2021).
This means that half the school year groups are now in isolation after years ten and 7 were told to stay at home last week.
It also comes after the reception year at Burlington School was also told to remain at home after a positive test last week
“I am writing to inform you that we have received confirmation that members of our Year 8 school community, have tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter to parents, Headlands Headteacher Sarah Bone, said:
“Following government and local authority guidance the affected persons and their families have now started their isolation.
“We have also sent a letter to parents and carers of students in Year 8 telling them that they need to isolate for 10 days from when they last had contact with the person affected. This is in line with government guidance.
“Headlands School remains open to Year groups 9, 11 & 6th Form and students should continue to attend if they remain well.
“We know that you may find this concerning and I would like to reassure you that our school is very careful to make sure everyone follows government and local authority guidance for cleaning and social distancing.”
