Humberside police have issued a statement in relation to a road accident that occurred on Friday afternoon (7th May) on Scarborough Road – around three miles north of Bridlington
The accident occurred around 3.30pm on the A165 – near to what is locally known as ‘Black Cottages Crossroads’ – which is the junction for roads to Buckton/ Bempton/Flamborough and Grindale. It involved two cars.
Sadly two people died at the scene and. a third was taken to hospital with serious injuries and anothet with minor injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the A165 remained closed overnight and only re-opened late morning on Saturday 8th May after police had conducted their investigations.

Fatal collision on A165, appeal for witnesses.
On Friday 7 May 2021 at 3.30pm officers were called to a collision between a black Mercedes GLA and a red Peugeot 2008 on the A165 at the junction of the Grindale Road.
The driver and passenger of the Peugeot, a man and a woman in their 30s, sadly sustained fatal injuries in the collision and died at the scene. A child travelling in the car was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries. The families of the deceased are being supported by specially trained officers and our deepest sympathies are with them at this extremely sad time.
The female driver, and sole occupant, of the Mercedes sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains in a serious condition.
