It was a disappointing start to the season for Bridlington Town on Saturday, as they suffered another defeat, again at an away fixture in the North East.
Having been beaten soundly in the FA Cup by Bishop Auckland the previous week, the team had hoped for a better result in their opening NPL East fixture against Dunston FC.
Adie Costello’s side fell behind inside ten minutes, but rallied back with Andy Norfolk’s equaliser on the 35th minute.
However, their opponents from Tyne & Wear had the upper hand in the second half, eventually running out 3-1 winners.
Bridlington Town will look to turn their fortunes around when they welcome Grimsby Borough to the Hudgell Solicitor Stadium on Tuesday evening, with kick-off at 7.45pm.
