After a week of big changes at Bridlington Town AFC which saw a new manager and Chief Executive appointed, and Adrian Costello who managed the Seasiders for two years, the club has put out announcements on their social media and website from the three people involved.
Statement from newly appointed Seasiders Manger Denny Ingram.
Firstly I’d like to thank Adie for giving me the opportunity to be involved with the club and the vision of the owners. Results at the start of the season haven’t been up to scratch and everyone associated needs to take responsibility. Moving forward I can confirm that Michael Coulson will be stepping up to player assistant manager and Pete Davidson taking up a player coach role.
“Both have vast experience and knowledge at both our current level and higher.
Having worked with both of them over many years I believe we have between us the passion and determination to push the club forward. That said it won’t happen overnight but I can guarantee between us we will be working tirelessly to change things around”
A club spokesman added: “Denny has a wealth of experience both on the pitch and coaching, holding positions as player assistant manager at the old and new Scarborough clubs as well as player assistant at Pickering then manager.
“Denny continues the excellent connections we have with Scarborough, working as head of football for Scarborough Football Scholarship in partnership with Bridlington Town Scholarship, where Bridlington will see its first intake of students this season.”
Former manager Adrian Costello has also released a statement on his time managing the Seasiders
Now the dust has settled and I find time to write these few words, I would like to put it on record I have enjoyed my time at Bridlington Town.
“The 2 county cup wins especially last seasons against North Ferriby will always be a cherished memory.
“I would like to thank Mike Thompson and Pete Smurthwaite for giving me the opportunity in the first place, every player and member of staff, paid or otherwise, during my time at the club and to the supporters who have been superb.
I wish Dan, Gav, all the staff and players every success and when I get time I will definitely be back to support. Standing next to big norm shouting “come on Brid.”
