Young dancers from Collette Tyler School of Dance took to running routes of Sewerby Park and cliff tops this weekend for a sponsored 5k park run.

The talented dance group, known for their dedication to all things dance, swapped their ballet shoes for running shoes to raise funds for their costume fund.
The event saw members of the older junior competition team, who regularly compete at various venues across the country, participate in the weekly Sewerby Park Run while rallying support from family, friends, and the local community.

Each year, the team showcases their talent and hard work in a show at the Bridlington Spa.
Funds generated from this run will play a vital role in paying for dance costumes that are crucial for their performances.

“Costumes are an important part of our competitions,” said one of the team members. “Without the funds we raise, we wouldn’t be able to perform at our best. This Park Run not only helps us fund our costumes but also brings us together as a team.”

Collette Tyler, the founder of the school, said: “It’s wonderful to see these young performers stepping out of their comfort zones and engaging in something new for a good cause. They’re not just dancers; they’re role models.”
