Bridlington Health Forum are set to host a public meeting at Bridlington North Library on Thursday 5 March at 1.30pm.
Dr Anthony Clarke- Chair of BHF said: “This meeting will provide an update on plans for the imminent transfer of HPC patients to Drs Reddy and Nunn’s practice. There will be advice about how to contact the GP following the Government’s introduction of online (digital) triage and online appointment booking across all General Practices, which has been mandatory since October 1, 2025.”
After a meeting with the new CEO of York and Scarborough NHS Trust and BHF Dr Clarke said”
“Clare Smith recently approached BHF to arrange a meeting with us, which is encouraging. Clare listened carefully to our presentation about local health inequalities and the travel challenge experienced by residents needing to access services at distant hospitals and then engaged in a thoughtful discussion.
“Finally, Clare mentioned that she plans to bring the Trust’s Executive to Bridlington Hospital on a rotational basis for some of their operational meetings, and suggested meeting BHF representatives afterwards while she is in Bridlington. I believe these are signs of the Trust’s intention to review their utilisation of Bridlington Hospital and to improve communication with Bridlington residents and hospital staff.”
Other news is that new a planning application has been submitted to the ERYC for the Crown Buildings on Quay Road to become part of a Live Well Centre for Bridlington.
This success has attracted My Dentist to Crown Buildings, who are currently situated further along Quay Road. They have stated they would like to host 17 surgeries in within the Crown Buildings (some to act as training surgeries) with the possibility of some audiology work also being offered. This would transform dental care in Bridlington.
This could add 840 NHS dental appointments per week which is fantastic news for Bridlington.
Dental care delivers far-reaching benefits that extend well beyond oral health, contributing significantly to public health, wellbeing, and economic productivity.
The intention is that the Crown Buildings will become the heart of a Live Well Campus, which will also include Bridlington Town Hall and the Medical Centre.
