Bridlington Old Town is gearing up for a magical day of festive celebration as the annual Ye Olde Town Yuletide Fayre and Lantern Walk returns on Sunday 30 November, running from 11am to 6pm.
The historic streets will once again be transformed into a winter wonderland, with stalls, entertainment and a spectacular lantern parade expected to draw in crowds from across the region.
In preparation for the event, locals are invited to join a lantern-making demonstration tonight (Wednesday 19 Novemeber) at The Queens Bar & Coffee House, taking place from 6.30pm to 9.00pm.
Anyone wishing to take part in the Lantern Walk can also attend to sign up to carry one of the ready-made lanterns, making it an ideal opportunity for families and individuals keen to get involved.
Excitement is already building as volunteers put the finishing touches to a selection of newly crafted lanterns, including a striking motorbike design.
This year’s parade is set to feature well over a hundred lanterns, forming the centrepiece of the day’s celebrations.
The official Christmas tree lights will be switched on at 4.00pm, followed by the lantern parade setting off at approximately 4.30pm.
Meanwhile, tickets are now on sale for the event’s grand raffle, priced at £5 per strip and available from Sissy & One, Brighams, The Board Inn and the Echo Gallery. All proceeds will help meet the significant costs of staging the Fayre, including road closures, traffic management, insurance and ambulance cover.
The Yuletide Fayre and Lantern Walks are run entirely by volunteers, whose dedication ensures the tradition continues year after year.
