After a two-week break, Bridlington RUFC return to league action this Saturday as they travel to Huddersfield Laund Hill.
Last week, the Blue and Golds were due to travel to Wath Upon Dearne in the Yorkshire Shield Second Round; however, Bridlington forfeited the game due to front-row selection issues.
Callam Sanderson shared his thoughts ahead of Saturday’s clash on the road:
“We’re really excited to get back out onto the field. Obviously, we’ve had a really good start to the year in the league, so we’re looking to continue our form. Huddersfield Laund Hill are a side we’ve identified as a tough challenge. A lot of their lads are players we’ve come up against over the years, and we know Huddersfield have got some good strike players — Adam Ryder being one, who we’ve heard a few reports about, with him being a strong, go-forward player, so he’s definitely on our radar.
“We’ve had a really good week in training. We do have some unavailability in personnel and a couple of injuries, although this shows the depth we’ve got in the squad. We’re missing two centres this week — Jamie Martin and Will Davies.”
Like Bridlington, Huddersfield Laund Hill have also had two weeks off heading into this match.
They have won one of their last two games, losing to Old Otliensians 28–36 and narrowly defeating Baildon at home 24–23.
