The festive season has come early to one Bridlington business…with the owner getting lots of puzzled looks, having already put up a Christmas tree in his restaurant.
Wayne Smith, who is the owner of Burlington’s Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge on High Street in the Old Town of Bridlington is a great fan of everything Christmas, and thought it would be a wonderful idea to get into the festive spirit early.
Said Wayne: “I absolutely love Christmas and everything about it, as soon as I take the tree down in January I start with ideas for events for the next festive season.”
“Some people think I’m crazy, but I love planning the menu for our Christmas and festive dinners, which are already selling well, and bookings are well ahead of anything I ever expected.”
Despite recent temperatures hitting 28 degrees centigrade, Wayne is adamant that there is no such thing as getting ready for Christmas early.
But staff members have drawn the line at Wayne playing Christmas songs to guests.
