Coastguard have warned members of the public dangers of riptide currents after the Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team photographed the beach showing the dangers of the sea.
Coastguard teams have also offered sincere condolences to the family of the deceased man following the incident at Reighton on Thursday.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends.”
“Please help us share some important information regarding water safety.
“Locally rip currents can be transient, with the sand causing them to move with each tide. They may also exist only under certain stages of the tide. The first image shows a picture today (24th July) from Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team taken while out on routine patrol showing a rip current identified today.
“Rip currents can be difficult to spot, but have the power to sweep even the strongest and experienced beachgoer out to sea – some reaching speeds 3 times faster than an Olympic swimmer.

“If you can, always choose a lifeguarded beach, swim between the yellow and red flags and take advice from the lifeguards.
How to break the grip of a rip:
If you see anyone else in trouble, call 999 ask for the Coastguard. Don’t enter the water yourselves as you may add to the number of people who require rescue from the water.
#Don’t try to swim against it or you’ll get exhausted
#If you can stand, wade don’t swim
#If you can, swim parallel to the shore until free of the rip and then head for shore
#Raise your hand, shout for help
