Today (Sunday 6th June) is the 77th anniversary of D-Day…. the mass landings on the Normanady beaches in France which changed the course of the Second World War.

In Bridlington, at the War Memorial on Prospect Street, local veterans and members of the public will gather to commemorate the events that took place in Normandy back in 1944.

Anyone who wishes to attend this event and pay their own respects is asked to gather (observing all distancing protocols) at the War Memorial at around 2.45pm.

A short service will start at 3.pm prompt and respects will be paid – along with a silence – by local Bridlington veterans organisations and visitors to the event.
We Will Remember Them.
