After the ECHO broke the story about the generosity of a security guard who paid for an elderly lady’s shopping at a Bridlington supermarket, we can now exclusively reveal the identity of the ‘Good Samaritan.’
And the public-spirited security guard who paid for the pensioners shopping has now been thanked for his generosity by his employers and the public.
Mike Wilson, who works at the Bessingby Road Morrisons store in Bridlington, was alerted to a problem at the store check-outs after an old lady had her credit card declined.
Mike stepped in to help, and despite several attempts at payment from the lady’s card for the shopping, the transaction still declined.
Seeing the lady become upset at ten prospect of not being able to but her shopping, Mike decided to pay for the groceries out of his own pocket – much top the admiration of colleagues and the public.
