On Easter Sunday (April 20), a colorful floatilla of plastic ducks will make their way down the Gypsey Race as the CYP hosts its annual event.

The Bridlington Club for Young People (CYP), located on Gypsey Road, will be selling vibrant yellow ducks to the public, with races for both children and adults taking place along the stream that runs adjacent to the football fields.

Dean Hoggard, the event organizer from CYP, is looking forward to another fantastic turnout for this quirky ‘quacky races’ tradition.

He explained: “In addition to the races, we’ll be hosting a fun day featuring bouncy castles from Jolly Jumpers, along with food and beverages available for purchase at the club. There will also be a football tournament and various stalls and attractions set up outside the hall,”

The duck racing festivities will kick off at 1 PM, with entry fees set at £5 for adult ducks and £2 for children’s entries. Winners will take home cash prizes, while young racers will be rewarded with Easter goodies.

Dedicated volunteers will be on hand to assist the ducks along their journey, ensuring they don’t get stuck in the reeds. All proceeds from the event will be reinvested into the club to support the building’s maintenance.
