Flamborough Head Golf Club held their annual Open Competition recently, and this year funds raised from the event were donated to Papyrus, the Suicide Prevention and Awareness Charity.
Rachel Davis from the club was overwhelmed with generosity of the players and declared the day as a roaring success.

“We asked people to wear purple if possible – 4 of our chaps got themselves matching purple polo shirts and we now call them ‘The Purple Perils’ – but if not we asked players to just wear something cheerful.
“We wanted to reiterate that although the Papyrus Charity is in support of an incredibly tragic cause it promotes kindness and support for others which is something that Flamborough Head Golf Club already do brilliantly.
“We wanted the day to be fun to reflect Alisia’s personality because she is more than just a face on a poster or a name on a trophy.” explained Rachel.

With money raised from the 6 back- to-back rounds of golf that FHGC manager Martin Davis from the club undertook earlier in the year, the club raised well over £3000.

“We had enormous support from the club, and we can’t thank them enough for their generosity. We also had great support from golfers from other clubs.
Altogether, including the money raised from the 6 back- to-back rounds of golf that Martin Davis from the club undertook earlier in the year, the club raised well over £3000 for Papyrus.
