Flooding has been avoided around Bridlington Harbour as one of the highest recorded tides brought water levels to the one of the highest levels seen for years.

Reaching 6.7 metres at 6.23am this morning (20th September) in Bridlington Harbour, a minimal sea swell and favourable wind direction meant no seawater spilling over on to Harbour Road area.

This afternoon – just after 1pm – the lowest tide of the year will occur – falling to 0.3m, meaning much of the area around the harbour entrance will be exposed.

However, it is not advised to walk around the mouth of the harbour.
