After running over 100km during September, a Bridlington mum is hoping to go one step further by taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on 8th October.
Shevonne Waines has been raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) since her son Henry underwent life-saving treatment there just after he was born.
Henry, who is now 6, spent 15 months at the London Hospital with theTracheal and Thoracic Team caring for him round the clock.
So far Shevonne, along with her husband Ben, have raised just over £40,000, but are hoping to smash through the £50,000 mark by raising funds from running sponsorship and also a Grand Raffle which will be drawn on Friday 20th October.
Said Shevonne: “We are eternally grateful to all the teams at GOSH who helped Henry and those that continue to do so. The next step is achieving the £50k mark which began on the 1st September with me running 100km over the month.
“How I’m going to fit that in, I have no idea……but I will, because I owe them every single day I have with our beautiful Henry. The best feeling is knowing you have contributed to the incredible hospital that you owe everything to, for saving the life of your baby.”
Raffle prizes so far include a Lewis Hamilton signed F1 AMG Mercedes Cap, vouchers from various Bridlington businesses, a seafood platter, a car service, soft play vouchers and much more. Raffle tickets are priced at £5 and can be purchased from Smiths Butchers on Chapel Street, Candy
