This year’s Heritage Open Days will take place from 12th to 21st September, with a special focus on Architecture.
Families and children will be treated to a variety of exciting activities designed to engage their creativity.
One highlight will be the Minecraft Archiverse event at the Leisure Centre, where participants can construct their own virtual worlds.
In addition, Alchemy, the historic Old Chemist in Old Town, will host a Lego Architecture event, inviting attendees to build structures in their own unique style. An artistic initiative will also be underway, where visitors can contribute to a streetscape mural, envisioning the future of Bridlington.
The Priory will play host to a Family Creative Day featuring local artist and sculptor Stephen Carvill, who will delight participants with his artistic expertise.
The theme of Architecture is particularly significant for Bridlington, as it is the birthplace of renowned architect William Kent, born in 1685 on High Street. His influential designs, including the iconic Horseguards in London, remain prominent today. An exhibition showcasing Kent’s life and works will be available in Old Town during the Heritage Open Days.
All events during Heritage Open Days are free to attend, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to participate. This year, several new venues will be joining the festivities for the first time.
