A huge aerial storm with dozens of flashes of lightning has illumited the night sky over the Flamborough and Bridlington area during the early hours of 2nd September.

The forecasted storm tracked Northwards from Spurn Point, over the Bay of Bridlington, clipping the Flamborough Headland and moving into Filey Bay.

Dozens of flashes each minute could be seen in the night sky, with thunder crashes in the heavy upper air turbulence.

Heavy rain bursts are also following the storm, with potential for standing water on some roads.
