Reports of drivers and passengers stranded in stationary traffic for almost and hour.
Many of the main roads in Bridlington are currently experiencing traffic gridlock as visitors flock to the area tie enjoy the half term holidays and glorious weather.
Particularly badly hit with traffic is Kingsgate (A1038), with vehicles backing up beyond the Lobster Pot pub.
Bessingby Hill near the Hospital (A165) is reported be bery busy, and Scarborough Road is seeing long lines of traffic at either side of the ongoing roadworks just North of the New Pasture Lane junction.
Richard Binsley, who owns Smith’s Burchets in Chapel Street, told the Echo it had taken him almost an hour to travel two miles.
“It’s great that the town is busy, but difficult for local traders to carry out our daily deliveries on time… but most of our customers are very understanding.” said Richard.
Traffic is also very busy near the Spa Royal Hall on South Marine Drive due to an accident, and also on Quay Road, The Promenade and around the main car parks.
