Reports of so called ‘fundraisers’ door knocking in the Bridlington area saying they are collecting for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) have been recieved by the charity.
A spokesperson for YAA explained: “We are aware that there are some people making door to door calls across Yorkshire.
“While we appreciate some people will be door-knocking on behalf of other charities, Air Ambulances and even helipad appeals, this won’t be anyone from YAA.
“Please ensure you, your friends and family are all fully aware of which charities they are supporting, and always ask for official charity ID.”
The warning comes after reports of collectors going from house to house saying they are fundraising for the YAA in the Bridlington area have been passed on to local representatives of the charity.
