One of the main roads into Bridlington has again been closed for up to three days and is not scheduled to open until the early hours Monday morning.

The railway crossing on Quay Road is undergoing extensive repairs and maintenance works by Network Rail Infrastructure and is scheduled to re-open on 12th February.
Natalie, who runs Tiffin and Tart just metres away from the work, has been hit hard with road closures and is calling for a more ‘joined up approach’ by the Network Rail and the utility companies that have closed the crossing in recent months.

“Said Natalie: “I appreciate that mainatince and infrastructure work needs to done, but surely there must be some way of scheduling the work around the same time.”
“Business is always difficult at this time of year, but customers just don’t bother when they see that one of the main access roads in and out of the town is closed off.”
Access is open to pedestrians, except for when the railways barriers are in the downward position for service trains – which are also completing track maintenance.

Traffic is being diverted at the Quay Road roundabout (Lloyd Dowson Roundabout) along Station Avenue and on to Hilderthorpe Road.

Understandably there is heavy traffic around these approaches at peak times.
Businesses around the area remain fully open to customers.
